Building a video community takes time and effort, especially when starting from scratch. One of the biggest challenges is maintaining a steady stream of engaging videos that resonates with your audience. Whether you're creating a community around gaming, education, or entertainment, keeping your site fresh with relevant content is crucial.
Pyro makes this process easier by allowing you to automatically fetch videos from various video sources. This helps you maintain an active community while you build your user base.
Currently, you can add videos sources from YouTube, Vimeo, TED, Rumble, Peertube and many more. When adding a source, you can:
- Assign categories to organize content
- Add automatic tags based on the source
- Filter content by keywords or topics
- Set content quality thresholds
Videos are fetched automatically approximately every 6 hours, ensuring your Pyro
site stays updated with fresh video content. All imported videos maintain proper attribution and links to original sources.
Adding a new video source
Go to the Video Sources section in your admin panel and click on
New Source button.
There are many options when adding a new video source. Most of them should be self-explanatory. If you want to
filter videos by some specific keywords, you can add them to
Reject videos from this keyword if they contain any of following words field
or
Only accept videos from this keyword if they contain any of following words field.
Please note that by default, this filtering is case-insensitive. If you do want to filter with case-sensitive keywords,
you can append a special modifier :[cs] at the end of each keyword.
This will make the keyword matching case-sensitive.
